A fragment of Post-Medievalcopper-alloy spur, dating to 1600 - 1700. Most of the spur is missing, an arm remains with a separate mount still attached.The armisD shaped in cross section, itends in an integral rounded, double looped terminal in a figure of eight shape. The copper alloy hook fitting, a hooked mount which would have fitted onto the straps that held the spur to the foot. It is broadly a figure eight in shape with oblong terminal being folded through the hole in the spur to form a closed hook. The opposite end has a pointed oval shaped button riveted on, this would have fitted into a slot or hole in a leather strap. The spur arm is undecorated. Length: 60.29 mm Width: 11.17 mm Thickness: 4.91 mm Weight: 17.2 g
