Copper alloy spur fragment. Part of one cast arm from a spur, o flattened D-section and tapered towards a figure-of-eight-shaped loop at its end, which is now abruptly bent. The fragment is narrowed and perhaps worn at its broken end, which has thereby acquired the wedge-shaped profile of an eraser for use with a wax tablet, though some analagous use might be preferred for a post-medieval object. Suggested date: Post-Medieval, 1500-1650
